Communism and the Soviet Union have fallen, but Russian imperialism has not. When I flew to Kiev to shoot the video I was excited to see firsthand the demonstrations and the fight for freedom and self-determination. After the video shoot, I flew back to New York confident that the Ukrainians would succeed in overthrowing the Yanukovich regime that took its orders from the Kremlin in Moscow. I felt honored to have seen them go to the streets and literally fight the government security forces and after a long struggle they finally took control of their own fate. The whole world raised their hands and cherished this victory of democracy and sovereignty. Finally Ukraine would be free. Right?...Wrong!
