● ● ● R_E_A_D___T_H_I_S ● ● ● Just in case it is not clear for some, this group has the EXCLUSIVE characteristic of being CLEAN and FAMILY ORIENTED. OBSCENITIES, DISCRIMINATION and DISRESPECT are NOT TOLERATED HERE...!!! We, the administrators are actively posting and checking other posts, but you all must understand that the group has grown EXPONENTIALLY and is very DIFFICULT to check eack and every single post or comment. REMEMBER: this is also YOUR group, and it is very much UP TO YOU, to keep it PG. Please feel free to send us an INBOX MESSAGE whenever you feel we need to take action about any specific post. I personally will be more than happy to bring things BACK TO NORMAL. Michelle & Giuneur ;) :) :p Here is some general info about this group... This is the original and official group by and for Latin American Afro-Descendants on Facebook. Latin American Afro-Descendants are individuals from Latin America, but of African descent. Latin American Afro-Descendants are Black people from Latin America; they are the direct descendants of AFRICAN people that were enslaved and brought in bondage to Latin America. If you are a Latin American Afro-Descendant, of any percentage feel free to join this group! ●●● GUIDELINES FOR POSTING ●●● ● POSTS SHOULD BE ON-TOPIC. ● YOUR PERSONAL OPINION IS WELCOME (As long as it is not offensive to anyone). Remember that anything can be said with a little bit of tact.. just be polite. ●●● The following will NOT BE TOLERATED and is grounds for REMOVAL from the group: ● *** SPAM *** ● HATE SPEECH OF ANY KIND ● NAME-CALLING (Other members or groups of people). ● DEROGATORY SPEECH ● UNWANTED CURSING □□□ Latin America refers to the following places: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada (francophone territories), Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, French Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, US (Louisiana) and Venezuela. Not all BLACKS are from the United States. During the Atlantic Slave Trade, the majority of African enslaved people were not brought to the United States, but also to other places in the Western hemisphere. In fact, the country with the largest black population in the Western hemisphere is Brazil. The United States has the second-largest population of persons of African descent in the Western hemisphere, and Colombia has the third-largest. The purpose of this group is to build awareness of the presence of persons of African descent in Latin American nations. This group also seeks to provide a forum for discussion of issues related to and facing Latin American Afro-Descendants, allow Latin American Afro-Descendants on Facebook to network, and to inform group members of opportunities to become involved in activities that work for the betterment of Afro-Descendant communities. Ideologies of mestizaje and blanqueamiento have encouraged Afro-Descendants in Latin America to deny their BLACKNESS in favor of passing as Indians or Whites. However, Latin American Afro-Descendants, from the slavery days to the present, have made and continue to make important contributions to their societies. Latin American Afro-Descendants should celebrate their heritages as Latin American Afro-Descendants (such as Afro-Colombians, Afro-Dominicans, Afro-Mexicans, ... etc.)!!! Latin American Afro-Descendants OR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN ISSUES AFFECTING Latin American Afro-Descendants ARE WELCOME TO JOIN. IF YOU JOIN(ED) BECAUSE YOU ARE TRYING TO BE A MEMBER OF A BUNCH OF RANDOM FACEBOOK GROUPS OR FOR SOME OTHER TRIVIAL REASON, PLEASE DONT JOIN OR STAY IN THIS GROUP! Its good to be BLACK...!!!
