***** Re: BREAKING NEWS we should be hearing later: PRAKASH not to contest COP leadership, ditto for CAROLYN, both to support DOOKERAN ********* https://groups.yahoo/neo/groups/CaribbeanTalk/conversations/messages/185633 The COP needs to get its house in order, to distance itself from its own non performers and from others in its ranks that would pose liability so as to remove the yoke that weighs so heavily upon it. Additionally, in order to remain relevant to the politics and insofar as being of use in any future coalition government, there must necessarily be a reconfiguration of any partnership arrangement. Any perception on the part the electorate of the COP being sidelined will hasten the return of the PNM; emboldened and waiting in the wings. There are hard workers in its ranks though, among them, Gary Griffith Minister of National Security who must be commended for his tenacity and the diligence and resourcefulness he displays, with what surely must be the most challenging of ministerial portfolios. A breath of fresh air for that ministry which in the past was bogged down by incompetence and led by others with heavy baggage. I get the feeling that the return of Mr. Dookeran will be a catalyst, an inducement of sorts for those disenchanted, dispersed supporters, to return to the COP fold. And let us not limit our options...Dabadie Omeara is welcome to join in the fray as we are in dire need of leaders! Lawrence Jittansingh Arouca
