***Reader Needs Advice*** NO BASHING!!! I have a very close friend who has been married for a little over 11 years no kids involved. It is both their second marriage and Im extremely worried about her. Her husband controls absolutely EVERYTHING she does. Shes not currently working but when she did have a job, he quit his job and got hired where she was so he could be around her all the time. He convinced her years ago to get rid of her car. He would drive her to cash her pay checks and then take ALL of her money. Shes never allowed to leave the house to see friends or run errands. If she does leave he FREAKS out on her. Hes pretty much keeping her prisoner. We are both fairly certain that hes been unfaithful in the past but couldnt prove it. She has never strayed from her husband. He yells at her and tells her shes stupid and calls her names and throws away the meals she makes if its not restaurant quality and is just so damn abusive to her. My question is, how do I help her see how unhealthy this is? How do I help her realize that this is NOT what marriage is about and thats shes being kept a prisoner in her own house? It breaks my heart to watch her be treated like this and I want to help her I just dont know how to approach this.
