Their house does not protect them against the cold of winter, where there is no cover or insulator to shield them, and moreover, the rainwater reaches their beds. The house of Abu Mahmoud lost the features and suitability for housing, no walls nor windows nor doors. He was pointing with his hand to his yard and saying, As you see, the house is not suitable for living, and we left it during the war under bombardment During his words, Abu Mahmoud showed his extreme sadness at the loss of his brother, the martyr Jihad and the entire family, recalling the last moments of communication with his Shaheed brother Jihad when he was assuring at him few minutes before he was killed. He continued, On the 19th night of Ramadan, the artillery shelling intensified indiscriminately and took place in all the houses in the region, including my house and my brothers house, martyr Jihad. He added, Jihads family survived after an artillery shell hit their house directly, which pushed them to leave their house which was damaged, and took shelter in the home of his brother, Jalal, who already evacuated his house, stressing that the indiscriminate shelling of the warplanes; F-16s, drones, and artillery continued on the houses in the neighborhood, since after Maghrib prayer until three in the morning, which did not stop for a moment, he said. He describes the moment of bombing his brothers martyr, Jihad, house with the awful scene, where he says: At the time of suhoor, a loud heavy explosion spread the dust and scattered fragments of rockets across the region, and screaming voices of wailing of women and children become loud, I rushed with my children to the targeted place, to find that the targeted houses are my brothers where Jihad and his family which consists of 11 children were inside the house, after Jalal and Bilal left the house running from death. Abu Mahmoud could not control himself during his speech as he described what he saw at the moment of targeting the house while his brother and his family were inside. He added, Rescue attempts failed to rescue those who were still alive under the rubble, saying he had heard the screams of the children who are infected within the targeted house, and that did not work to try to get them out of the intensity of the fire and indiscriminate shelling of the area, which continued without interruption until the morning. He said he had appealed to the Red Cross and civil defense to save the children, and the remaining ones under the targeted building, but the appeals did not work and the Civil defense could not provide assistance due to the intensity of indiscriminate shelling and rejection of the Israeli occupation of coordination for them to enter the area. He said: Everyone was in the targeted building was killed, and after eight days of the war, the Israeli occupation agreed on a humanitarian ceasefire and stopped the bombing. The civil defense came to evacuate the martyr bodies from under the rubble which their bodies had decomposed. He clarified that there were not any indications to suggest any military presence to target the house stressing that it is inhabited by civilians, women and children and elderly, and they do not have anything to do with the armed military organizations. Abu Mahmoud said that the targeting of the house came without any warning or notice to those inside the house by the Israeli occupation forces. About his steadfastness in the land, and after the Israeli occupation has demolished his brothers houses: I am ready to die with my family in this land, and we remain steadfast here, and there will not be a second migration as the 1948 displacement of Palestinians from their land. He explained that his brothers Jalal and Bilal are now displaced with their families and unstable, renting houses here and there to exercise their normal lives, saying they had received no humanitarian nor financial aid by relief organizations. He appealed to officials to stand beside the families of the martyrs and to those whose houses are demolished in the recent war on the Gaza Strip and to speed up the reconstruction, demanding the Islamic and Arab countries, especially Malaysia to stand by the Palestinian people and support them economically as well as politically and to support their steadfastness against the Israeli occupation.
