***Record Breaker This Morning*** Not sure congratulations are really in order, but Ill give you the nod. Frigid temperatures in southern St. Lawrence County appear to have been record-setting as lows reached 28 below zero in Star Lake and 26 below zero in Gouverneur early this morning, according to Weather Underground. The previous record set in 2005 was 20 below at KGTB Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county. While extremely cold in northern parts of the county, the record low at the Massena International Airport of 27 below zero set in 2005 remains in tact. The Massena International Airport is the closest National Weather Service recording station in northern St. Lawrence County.
