‘Red alert sounded across JK’ Srinagar, : Police Thursday said it has sounded a red alert across Jammu and Kashmir following the militant attack in Samba district in Jammu region. “We have sounded red alert across J&K,” said the Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Prasad. He said the slain truck driver and conductor are from Kunmoh area of Kashmir and they have been “taken forcefully by the militants.” Prasad said that they have retrieved the bodies of all three militants and they “most probably” belong to Lashker-e-Toiba(LeT). “They have not been identified yet. Let us wait,” he said. Prasad said that militants have infiltrated last night and have boarded an Auto as well as the truck on gunpoint. “First they were looking for Army or CRPF camp,” he said and added that after attacking the Police Station, the militants attacked Army camp. “The operation is over and the militants have been killed.” Meanwhile, Srinagar and other towns in Kashmir Thursday witnessed heightened security after the Samba attack. Heavy deployment was witnessed in Srinagar and light motor vehicles were being thoroughly checked.
