#RegardingJokes: Making fun of *anything* from the Dīn removes one from the fold of Islām, jokes are permissible but keep religion out of it Tafseer Surah Tawbah should clarify things for the seekers of the proof. Sufyān ath-Thawrī رحمه الله was asked: “Is joking considered a shortcoming?” He replied: “No, rather it is Sunnah.” ● [شرح السنة للبغوي] Not to forget the conditions of joking unlike many individuals today who joke in the name of religion often mocking the deen It is reported that Imām Mālik – Allāh have mercy on him – said: Whatever you fool around with, don’t fool around with your dīn (religion). [Al-Lālakāʾī, Sharḥ ʾUṣūl ʾIʿtiqād Ahl Al-Sunnah 1:163] jokes (excessively or indecently) is a person who will be taken lightly. Whoever does something frequently will become known by that thing. Whoever speaks often, errs often; the more often one errs, the less modesty will he possess; whoever has a low level of modesty will also... have a low level of piety; and when one has a low level of piety, then his heart dies.” [Sifatus-Safwah, 1/1449] Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab radiyAllahu anhu once said to Al-Ahnaf Ibn Qais:“O Ahnaf, the more one laughs, the less dignity will he posses.
