#Repost from @cassidycfit with @repostapp — #WorkoutWednesday Hamstring isolation work with Eccentric Nordic Leg Curls, (Or eccentric glute/ham raises if your gym has one). I do these on a lat pull down machine with a chair in front to push off at the bottom of the movement. Starting upright, slowly lower your body forward/down keeping tension on your hamstrings/glutes for a 5 second negative. When you reach the bottom of the movement, push off while continuing to squeeze your hamstrings/glutes. Focusing on the eccentric (negative) part of an exercise, allows for muscle lengthening, producing greater muscle damage and recruiting fast twitch muscle fibers over slow twitch ones. These fibers have a much greater growth potential, so incorporating eccentric movements into your training can lead to greater hypertrophy. Muscles know TENSION not weight. @ansperformance #hamstrings #glutes #bikini #bodybuilding #powerlifting #powerbuilding #girlsthatlift #girlsthatpowerlift #ansperformance #ansperformanceathlete #sponsoredathlete #joshstrength #jailhousestrong #iifym #flexibledieting #reversediet #offseason #teamprophysique
