【Reposts Week: Day 2】 A little confession here: I posted this video back in 2011 some time after South Africa destroyed England 36-0 in the Rugby World Cup, when I was very happily surprised to learn (rather belatedly) that this song had become (part of) S.A.s national anthem. I then learnt more about it through wikipedia etc., even managing to sing it with my eyes closed (i.e. no access to cheat sheets) a couple of times. NOW Im back to square one - I can sing the first line and then Id have to hum the melody without knowing the words. Ah! Wheres Matteo Ricci memory palace when I need it? There are 2 songs Ive really loved since those ancient days that Id like to beg Boeti to teach me some day.
