“SEALED WITH A CROSS” By T R C Norris No greater love could He have shown to such a sinner as I; Than to willingly lay down His very life, and on a cross to die; Composing a compassionate love letter, scribed in crimson red; Mocked and beaten unmercifully, a crown of thorns upon His head; Love in words of pure passion, so tenderly and beautifully embossed; Personally delivered by nail pierced hands; and He sealed with a cross. It’s a love letter of invitation that Jesus so lovingly gives; For even though He gave His life, once more our Savior lives; And this letter which He has written; is not intended for me alone; But is offered to every sinner, who will allow His blood to atone; For the death sentence we deserve, for our lives of sin and dross; And it bears a royal signature, for He sealed it with a cross. Today He speaks to each of us, in earnest compassion He pleads; Time is quickly running out, while in loving grace He intercedes; Now is the time, today is the day; to accept His earnest call; What does he really ask of us, for He has already given His all; While salvation is offered as a free gift to us, it isn’t without cost; For Jesus gave Himself for us, and sealed it with a cross.
