~~ SEVERE STORMS FOR EASTERN AUSTRALIA TOMORROW (TUESDAY) ~~ Storms are likely right up and down the East Coast of Australia tomorrow, with a heightened focus of Severe Storms between Newcastle and Mackay, as Instability reaching maximum levels. The Trough which is the cause of these Storms as of late is expected to move towards the West, this will drive Moisture in towards the Ranges and this will create the prime lift needed for Severe Storms to spawn along the Ranges. This will also create a threat of Heavy Rain which may result in Flash Flooding due to the Slow Movement of Storms along the Coast and East of the Ranges. Mackay to Newcastle (inland to Armidale, Goondiwindi & Taroom): • Severe Storms are LIKELY during the afternoon. These Storms are likely to contain Large Hail, Damaging Winds and Very Heavy Rain which may result in Flash Flooding. Frequent Lightning and Dangerous CG Lightning will also feature in a lot of Storms, not just Severe Storms. • General Storms will feature Heavy Rain also, with Strong to Damaging Winds and Small Hail. • Storms are expected to move towards the East (North of Gympie) and SE (South of Gympie) • Storms could occur during the late morning, but will be more prominent in the afternoon and into the evening. North of Mackay (Along the Coast): • Storms are expected again, Cairns could be a miss, but Townsville and Cape Flattery should see some activity • Heavy Rain is likely in these Storms along with Strong Winds • Frequent Lightning will also be an issue with a lot of Energy around • Storms are expected to move to the N to NE South of Newcastle (inland to Mudgee, Wagga Wagga and Bathurst, including Sydney and Canberra): • Storms possible with Heavy Rain, Hail and Strong Winds • These Storms are likely to move to the East and should be fairly patchy. • Good Instability should place some Storms around the Southern Tablelands and through the Central Tablelands, with the hope they make them towards the Coast Images via BSCH: • Storm Probability (Red - Severe Possible, Orange - Storms Likely) • Instability (Purple/White - Extremely High Instability) Tags: Johns Weather Channel - JWC, Sydney Storm Chasers, Higgins Storm Chasing, Tamworth weather, Townsville Weather, Illawarra Stormchasers, Southern NSW Storm Chasing, New South Wales Storm Chasers
