#SFGiants have some good news, and some bad news for fans according to sources... Bad News first....Matt Cain threw today to test his elbow. The idea was to see if he would have surgery sooner than later to clean up the bone chips in his elbow. Bochy revealed it did not go well, and Cain will likely not pitch for the team for the rest of the season. Surgery sounds close. It has a 3 month recovery time that would finish his season, but make him ready for 2015. Cain has reportedly been dealing with the bone chips for almost 10 years, but they have gotten to the point where surgery is now necessary. The Good News....Angel Pagan is being sent to Fresno AAA on a rehab assignment the team just announced. He could be back with the big league team as soon as this coming Tuesday according to Alex Pavlovic. Brandon Belt is said to be very close to returning, possibly even this weekend. He may or may not be sent for a rehab assignment, possibly to Richmond, VA.
