**SNOW UPDATE** Ill be sharing model data throughout the night and day tomorrow. Be sure to follow my page Ric Kearbey to get the new data and travel information as it develops. Rain develops overnight and will change to snow tomorrow morning. Notice the graphic by the National Weather Service plotting that snow begins west of I-55 by 9 am, between I-55 and I-57 late morning, and east of I-57 around midday or shortly after. The latest snow projections: Lincoln -- 3 to 4 Springfield, Decatur, Peoria, Champaign -- 2 to 3 Rushville, Havana, Jacksonville -- 1 to 2 Effingham, Mattoon, Danville -- 1 or less This is expected to be a low ratio snow. That means it wont be a light, fluffy snow. In colder weather, snow has more air space so there are more inches of snow. Wet snow that falls at the freezing mark, like tomorrow, is usually sloppy and heavy. We call this heart attack snow because its tough to shovel. This will be great snowball and snowman making snow. So, the kids will love it. Going over the river and through the woods to Grandmas tomorrow night? The snow should taper off by evening but roads could certainly be slippery, so be careful and watch how this storm develops carefully. Sunshine returns for Christmas Day with a high of 41°. Be careful and Merry Christmas. Updates to come...
