~~ STORMS SET FOR NORTHERN NSW, SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL QLD AGAIN - TopicsExpress

~~ STORMS SET FOR NORTHERN NSW, SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL QLD AGAIN (WEDNESDAY) ~~ A Deepened Trough is running up from Charleville to Moranbah and then up the North QLD Coast, just inland from Townsville. A Low Pressure System is expected to be situated over the Central Highlands along this Trough, which will help draw in Moisture and that Moisture will mix with an Unstable Environment, resulting in some more widespread Storm Activity. Some Instability is still lingering around Northern NSW, which will trigger some more Storms, but the majority of activity should be Thundery Rain. • Severe Storms are LIKELY through Central and Southern QLD, possibly Northern NSW too • Damaging Winds, Large Hail and Frequent Lightning will all be a chance in Severe Storms, while Heavy Rain will be the main feature once again due to High Moisture levels • Due to Steering, Storms should move North (South of Emerald) and East (North of Emerald) • The Low is going to help pump in Maximum Moisture to the Capriconia and Central Highlands, resulting in Heavy Rain Periods. These cells should back build, and be fairly slow moving - if not Stationary, resulting in Falls in excess of 50mm for the area. Flash Flooding is possible, but a minor threat.
