“Sacrifice without cost is not a sacrifice” 2 Samuel 24:24 - TopicsExpress

“Sacrifice without cost is not a sacrifice” 2 Samuel 24:24 NIV 24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. David had sinned and his sin was costing the lives of his people. God told David what he must do to right the wrong. David was to build an altar on a specific site to offer a sacrifice to the Lord. God knew that David was going to be offered the land, building and the oxen for free and was going to test David to see if he truly had a repentant heart. True sacrifice come at a cost and the greater the sacrifice the greater the cost. Take stock in what you give to the Lord. What did it cost you? Is it you best? What was your attitude in giving? Are your gifts being accepted by Him? Consider the cost of Jesus’s sacrifice. How do yours measure up? Love you guys.
