Isaiah 55:10–11 NIV The Lord spoke to me when I was about twenty years old and told me that I would one day be in the ministry and to prepare myself. I was very excited and entered bible college while continuing to work a job. I graduated, determined that I would not go into the ministry unless God opened the door for me. I never looked for a ministry position and continued to work various jobs for the next 20 years, ending up in computers, programming, and technical stuff, all while waiting. Twenty-five years later, when I had given up on that dream and thought that I had missed Him. When I had pretty much written off what the Lord had told me. Then I was suddenly pushed into the ministry just like cattle being herded down a chute. It required no more effort than putting one foot in front of the other, but a lot of endurance. Now I use the skills that I learned in my past for the Lord. Even though I had graduated bible college, I was only beginning my schooling. What the Lord has told you will come to pass, and you can build your life on it. The things that you are doing today are preparing you to be used tomorrow. It will not always look the way that it does now. God does have a plan for your life and His silence does not mean that you are not on the path.
