*Seizing The Moment* A few weeks ago, smack dab in the middle of that old peak season. I was heading in and it must of been early coming in, about 9:30pm. All the local sort and drivers were outside the barn in the southwest side of the parking lot with blank stares and tired faces, it was no beauty pageant. Oms, clerks and angry customers wanting their Christmas season packages…. As my nature drives me, in an instant, a thought frozen in time, Said a parking lot meeting! I pulled over and seized the moment and yelled out this is a parking lot meeting! Fellow employees and management we will do everything in our power to rid Hoffa and all those who support him! We are the union and we will stand in solidarity and fight against all that oppose a member run teamster union! All eyes and ears were fixed on my every word. Then I said all those who agree let me here you say YEAH! All the rank and file yelled with their hearts poured out and even management, that was strange. When I had finished My manager said hey, this is a fire drill! and I simply smiled and said yes sir, it sure is. Fraternally, Angelo P. Demma
