An image from that day that still shocks my recollection: shoes raining out of the sky, only to be replaced by an incredibly dense, grey cloud that covered the city. The cloud was more than pulverized building materials, it was a metaphor - for the grey area that has become our confusion about what happened and why and the hard-to-handle concern of how to deal with terrorism. The question that has grown over the years is "what will we never forget?" The people, the terrorists, the reasons, the resolve, the aftermath, or the intransigence of the threat...or all of it? Perhaps the greatest thing to never forget is that we must cherish what we have - our family, our loved ones, our freedom. Every day counts... I hope today we take the time to reflect on all our blessings as well as the dark reminders of what happened on that unforgettable day twelve years ago."
