Seriously, is this one of his priorities? Why doesnt he use the money to prevent basement flooding so people dont have to go out and take bank loans to solve the Citys problems? [FR]Eddies latest Plan, a detailed Plan which must be a real plan except how can we afford to pay for it since we can barely afford to pay for Parks today and many are being closed down. However, we are not to ask such difficult questions: Transformation of the Grand Marais Drain 1.Transform the Grand Marais Drain into a recreational asset by covering the Drain to establish better connections between communities on either side of the drain, while providing an opportunity for the addition of new passive and active recreational use (see Appendix A). 2.Restore pedestrian links between adjacent neighbourhoods. 3.Connect existing trails to Windsor Loop and to the Herb Gray Parkway Trials. 4.Create linear park space along current length of Grand Marias Drain from Dougall Avenue to the City’s boundary with LaSalle. 5.Provide for connections to the Herb Gray Parkway and the Ojibway Prairie complex. 6.Work with ERCA to fund the transformation by seeking funding opportunities from the Green Municipal Fund, The Build Canada Fund and advocate for a funding allotment form the 2015-2019 Capital Budget (ie. Samsung Funds). Heres the fun part of all this. This has all been already done. Go here to see what I mean: Project Status: The Class EA for the Grand Marais Drain has been completed. A Notice of Completion has been published in the Windsor Star and circulated to all interested stakeholders. Subject to comments received as a result of the Notice and receipt of necessary approvals the City of Windsor may proceed with the design and construction of the project. citywindsor.ca/residents/Construction/Environmental-Assessments-Master-Plans/Pages/Grand-Marais-Drain-Concrete-Channel-Environmental-Assessment.aspx
