Shariah ruling on self-defense Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds! Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad , members of his family and all his companions . And then : Q: What is the Islamic view of self-defense ? Whether it is a human right , and whether there are conditions for this right ? Does the Quran about self-defense ? Answer to the question : distinguished scholar Riyadh , Saudi Arabia , a member of the Standing Committee for Fatwa , Sheikh Abd al -Karim al- Hudayr ( may Allah preserve him ) A: Self-defense , defense of his honor , reason , property and religion are among the main principles of the Sharia . Five of these principles are well known to Muslims. Thus, a person is obliged to defend himself , and he was not allowed to eat what brings him harm. The same can not let anyone hurt you. If a person attacks another person, animal, or anything else, he is obliged to protect yourself, your family or property , and if he is killed at the same time , he becomes a martyr , and the killer will be in Hell. If minor damage from aggression , and he does not answer that for the sake of Allah, then surely Allah will reward him if this omission will not cause more harm to themselves or others.
