Since the Arab uprisings of 2011, which have been sweeping the previous status quo of the Middle East, and the subsequet quagmires in the region, the Middle East is placed at a crossroad even without any road sign. The established status quo forces made up of Egypt-Saudi-Israel and U.S has already been broken down due to the failures of political, social and economic refroms domestically, and to their self-corruptions.(the Middle East version 1.0) The revisionist sector mainly led by Iran and the non-state actors in the region is now making the new setting of the Middle East, effectively forgeing their strong potilitical spatialtiy. (ME version 2.0) Meanwhile, the al-Quaeda and its affiliated militant groups ranging from Afaganistan to the North Africa tries to establish their own political entities in the cleavage between two sides, via cooperation and competition.
