*Snow --whaat?* Its a Winter Storm Watch! In effect from Tuesday 4 p.m. through Wednesday 4 p.m. for Wake and Franklin Counties. The National Weather Service has issued the Winter Storm Watch due to the potential for significant snow (or sleet or ice) accumulation. Two to five inches of snow is possible in the watch area and snow could begin falling late Tuesday afternoon, continuing through Wednesday afternoon. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour for several consecutive hours will quickly coat road surfaces. This will make travel hazardous Tuesday night into Wednesday. The snow will likely impact travel on major arteries such as I-95, U.S. 301, U.S. 701, I-40 east of Raleigh, U.S. 64 and 264 east of Raleigh and U.S. 401 south of Raleigh.
