❆❆❆Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus): With a big storm approaching, I cant get out this weekend to photograph, so here is one from last week. We refer to this Snowy as Whitey, and he/she lives across the street from Headband, occupying the marsh between the State Park road and the beach town. I have not had many opportunities to photograph this one, as he/she spends most of their time on top of the beach parking lot lights, about 70 feet up. I have tried to limit my photos this year to wildlife occupying a natural space (try not to photograph man made objects except pilings near the water), so when Whitey dropped into the march, I snapped this one quick. For those who have been looking at my many Snowy pictures this year, you can see the huge difference in appearance between Whitey and Headband. This has been a wonderful opportunity to see these guys up close, and to really know how different they are and that each is an individual. Hope to get out this week after the storms ~Dave~
