~ Some are irresponsible with the Extremism label Of course, the Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wasallam has warned us about Ghuloo (Extremism) in Deen. But lets be honest: The Deeni definition of Extremism is way DIFFERENT from that of the EU, CNN and the US government! They usually classify a man with a beard and thowb, and a woman with a niqaab (face-veil) as Extremist. And anyone who wants a Muslim majority country to be ruled by Islamic Law, is somehow Extremist. And to them, any Muslim with a gun is an Extremist terrorist, even if he be justly fighting in self-defence. Just because Boko Haram in Nigeria are Extremist, doesnt mean that Hamas and the Syrian Mujaahideen are necessarily extremist by Islamic standards. They want us to be cowards and sitting ducks and apologetic Muslims who live by Western secular standards - not by Quran and Sunnah! And nobody denies that we must try to have good relations with non-Muslims and show them the beauty of Islam. But lets do so WITHOUT COMPROMISING our Islamic teachings. We dont limit our Deen to how the non-Muslims want us to practice it. Quran and Sunnah is the criteria for a Muslim. So in short, let us not be over-critical of our Muslim brethren struggling for freedom around the world while always trying to make excuses for the non-Muslims. May Allah save us from Nifaaq (Hypocrisy), aameen.
