“Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers.”~Francis Chan. Miriam Webster defines aberration as a departure from what is normal, usual, or expected: typically one that is unwelcome. As believers we must consider ourselves a distinguished people (Ex 33:16). If we truly were biblical in our orientation and approach to life, unbelievers would be confused and amazed. Because the Gospel stirs response (positive or negative) wherever it is proclaimed. Christians who live out the Gospel will also stimulate controversy wherever we go. Oh God, make us a bizarre aberration in the darkness...for your Glory! For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, he things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.” (1 Cor 1:26-31).
