* South of the Border...Down New South Wales Way * Mungindi, Garah, Ashley, Moree here we come Well its official...weve notched up 35 long, hard, amazing, challenging, wet and dry Qld days...phew!!! Now we are about to confront 50 long days travelling through the stock routes of New South Wales. Undoubtedly well have a fresh set of challenges to contend with, but as the Team has become work hardened so has our resolve to just do it. You can see part of our route that included Augathella, (Day 14) then traveled down the stock route via our last Qld destination of Thallon to our current destination at the border town of Mungindi (Day 36) just how far weve been. We experienced a cool night at Thallon with a heavy dew that created very sticky, and quickly developing mud platform soled boots. Thankfully our boots werent as compacted and challenging to remove as the NINDIGULLY PUB mud that clogged up the horses hooves seen being cleaned out by Harold and Anna. Checking the horses hooves for stones and mud removal is a constant job as the horses feet play a very important part, of course. Our feet could probably do with some podiatry as well I imagine. Sadly we have to reinvent our LR4L mission all over again in NSW as we arent known here at all. It does seem weird that borders create differences. But the ABC radio in NSW didnt know about us, the NSW police and the local residents didnt know either. So Ive been flat-out getting the media release out, contacting the media, chatting to as many people as possible. That week out of internet contact really created chaos for us regarding communication. So now I have a favour to ask of YOU....Please share our posts with as many of your NSW friends, family, colleagues, networks and media contacts. If you do have any media contacts share our media release we posted yesterday as it included all the important pieces. We want to be as well known in NSW as QLD!!! Even though we have physically left Qld, we havent left them in our hearts, so Queenslanders please keep in touch!!!!
