【Spring分享讚】Practice Does Make Perfect I’ve been teaching Teachers’ In-Service Graduate Program for years and I’ve noticed one fact – practice makes perfect. This summer I offered English Testing to the third-year class and Teaching of Vocabulary to the first –year class. Compared with the first-year class, the third-year class’s near-perfect performance in both speaking and writing amazed me and delighted me. (In all of the graduate courses I teach, I ask Ss to take turns doing oral presentation of the gist of each chapter and write a weekly (sometimes by-weekly) reading response.) After two years’ practice, this bunch of ETs is now able to speak and write English fluently without errors. To see our Ss improve is a joy forever. Now my first-year Ss are struggling to fight off errors in their speaking and writing. I told them not to give up because I’m sure two years later, their English will be error-free.
