***Stepping up on my soapbox*** Sometimes, the human species just baffles me. There are those who for whatever reason absolutely cannot extend grace to others. And, you know what, I totally get it...it is a very hard thing to do at times. We get caught up in the pain someone caused us or someone we love or the inconvenience of a mistake someone made has thrown us into a tailspin. But, when it is all said and done, I choose to extend grace…to those that I feel annoy me, or speak out of term, or are rude, angry, or have wronged me. Because everyday I am a receiver of grace. Every day I fall short of the glory of God. Every day I lean on my acknowledgment of Jesus and the Miraculous Work He has done for me. I am most positive that I have annoyed, deeply wronged, or been rude and angry - even if I didn’t mean it. Let me tell you, those times where probably times of hardship or loss, maybe I was compensating for vulnerability or shame, maybe I had just heard some bad news. There’s no telling what a person is going through, and we certainly can’t know a stranger’s character by one act/mistake. So why not extend grace? There’s NO reason not to. We all need to be loved and encouraged right where we are. In our unique places along this journey of life - facing different challenges - with our own unique strengths and struggles - we need to love each other! Its really just as simple as that. Here is my challenge to all out there who chose to read this far down my post, try extending grace the next time you want to accuse, blame, attack or degrade someone for what theyve done to you or someone you love, and I promise your blessings will overflow. God has forgiven us and extended grace, therefore we also should extend grace freely to each other. Everything must be done with love- thinking of each other first. If you feel so inclined, read Romans 15:1-7 for a wonderful pick-me-up!
