#StraitAndNarrowIsTheWay And that way, is obedience to what is right, and sticking to that no matter what. I can make a case for nearly anything using the Bible. And I can tell many are now. But the Will and Voice and Spirit of God precedes any written Word. It leads us, and shows us which word of the Word is relevant and proof to back up what God said. The two must agree, but the Spirit precedes the written Word and is Gods preferred way. Adam was not given a scroll, nor are babies now. There will not be one in Heaven, either. And so, when we say we walk by faith and not by feelings, that includes that we stick to what God actually said, and not by subsequent actions and circumstances to us. If God were to say dont reconnect or join in with some, for example, nothing that happens to us, even in relationship to that group or person and for our benefit after that (or before), can change that Word or instruction. Only God can change it. This is integrity to God, and of people. This is righteousness, and that straight and narrow way. The other would be hypocrisy and double mindedness. Now God does not give a word on every single matter despite what some might think. Using His wisdom and good values, there are somethings that individuals have to decide for themselves. But just like with a specific Word from above, though it is right from time to time to reevaluate and change based on new information, if for personal reasons and self serving we were to change, that would show a lack of integrity and good leadership. To switch over to politics, let us say that a certain politician believed a certain way about the economy and business regulations, tax rates and codes. Then, later the same, while still being in politics, becomes a business owner. Should they change their ideas only to be more favorable to them? Or, what if they were always in business, but where once prosperous is now experiencing a down turn? Should we be alright with them changing because a change would benefit them, but is not right altogether? And what is the hard times are their fault in the first place, and they should alone are responsible for it. Should they change political ideology because of that alone, and We The People satisfied? No. And yet, there seems to be this idea in the air, that if only some were made to suffer, or go through circumstances, that that would or should change them and make them see and think differently. That sounds nice for the movie of the week. But really it is not wisdom or good leadership, which would have well thought out beliefs and solutions that will not change based on personal circumstances and feelings about it. The key to all is to concentrate on what is right, and what is wrong, only, when evaluating all. Take the movie Scrooge and its message. Ebenezer did change by the things he went through, and was shown, but he was wrong to begin. Had he been right, nothing shown to him or thing suffered should have changed him, even as we see that truth displayed by Bob Cratchit and even more so by Cratchits son, Tiny Tim. It should be the same with us. It is with me for sure. Integrity is the ability to maintain shape and structure, and at all times, and regardless of circumstance. Some think that means it needs to be proved by adversity. It does not. Consistency is proof alone. Proof is only manifestation and making a shew. What some really want is more than proof, but blood and to social experiment, which is proof of them. If God said it, we are to believe it. If we are in the image and likeness of God, then if we say it, others ought to believe it, unless there is good reason not to. And even then, communication will go along way better than some of the other stuff I have seen done. Wisdom is principle. Consider what is right only. Be able to reason and give answer to all why it is right. But then, once that is done, dont move. Dont move no matter what. It is not enough just to know and do what is right and best, either. But as a politician, and leader (and per my Christian faith, too), we must also and are literally to establish what is right. That is hard to do if one is constantly moving based on personal circumstances and/or selfish reasons, only. There would be no Declaration of Independence, nor a Constitution, or any other Law of the Land established, without this kind of integrity. It is what is missing greatly now in American politics, too. And also, after that, a willingness for many to say when they are wrong, when proven so. That is not integrity, that is stubbornness and usually for selfish reasons. We have to all want only what is right, more than to be right, and desired above our political careers, or other professional goals, and personal desires of any. Think on these things.
