“Summer nights” in Dunmore Prior to going to Dunmore Musical Society’s production of Grease in Dunmore last night I rang an old comrade of mine who participated in the 1996 Dunmore Community School’s production of Grease and we reminisced about that production and what it meant to all those involved. I went to Community school with anticipation of a good night’s entertainment and I was not let down. Once again the pride which I hold for my parish was regenerated last night with Dunmore Musical Society’s production of Grease. I know we cannot take all the praise for this production as there were a few scans shams and other local tribe’s people involved in this production which was a huge success from the very start From introduction song of “Rydell Alma Mater” till finale “We Go together- Reprise” this very talented group of individuals held us all in the palm of their hands. Every aspect of this production was top class. Choreography is a major component in any production and it was not lacking last night. The ensemble singing and dancing was a sheer joy to watch and the costumes covered all the colours of the rainbow. The off stage crew for this production were amazing in the way they ensured that there was no delay involved in change of scenes. Lighting and Sound also worked very well. When it comes to main characters in play I wish I could single out one or two individuals but I feel this would be a huge injustice to all involved as I feel there was no character who underperformed. If you have an opportunity go and see this show which is on both tonight and Sathurday night and enjoy old favourites like “Summer Nights” , “Shaking at the High School Hop”, ”You’re the one I want”, “Greased lightning”, “Freddy my love”, “Mooning”, “Beauty School drop out” and many more.
