#TBT - In light of this week’s deadline for #Folly2015 (over 100 submissions received!), we reminisced on the beginning of the program with the Architectural League of New York. Together we launched FOLLY in 2012 as a way to explore the intersections between architecture, design, and sculpture. Our inaugural winner was “Curtain, a project conceived by architects Jerome Haferd and K Brandt Knapp. “Curtain” was a striking installation that combined architectural structural framing with mutable plastic chain link partitions and enclosures… and looked amazing in the snow! Haferd and Knapp were selected from 115 submissions by a jury that included: Alyson Baker, former Executive Director of Socrates Sculpture Park (2000-11) and current Executive Director of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum; Yolande Daniels, Studio SUMO; Richard Gluckman, Gluckman Mayner Architects; Christopher Leong, Leong Leong Architecture; and Leo Villareal, artist.
