**TECH TIP TUESDAY** Most two sided automotive keys are clamped by the milling groove in the keyway rather than on the edge of the key. The milling grooves on the Toyota TR47 key blanks are very shallow and do not provide sufficient clamping area to prevent the key from twisting in the jaw while being cut. An adapter can be used to clamp this key using the standard jaw position along the edge of the key. The adapter fits in the milling groove and provides a square surface to use to align the key properly.
