~~~~~THE BORN AGAIN PERSON CANNOT SIN~~~~” [1John 3:9] Now, let’s compare this verse with what John said just a few verses before, ”My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” [1John 2:1] If we do not commit sin, and in fact cannot sin, why did John have to tell us not to sin, and if we did, we have an advocate? Contradicting? Confusing? Not when you understand the difference between your spirit and your soul. I am going to be as bold as the Apostle John and will make it plain to anyone who reads this. We have concluded that God does live in a born again person. We have also concluded there is something in you that God has already sealed until the day of redemption. That something is your spirit. Since God has sealed your spirit, it cannot sin. Your spirit is the part of you that is born of God and cannot sin.If Im saved by grace, then why resist sin? Paul answers this question in two ways in this chapter. First, Christians dont live a life of sin because they are dead to sin~ Secondly, although God is not imputing our sins unto us, Satan is.~~~ Paul clearly states that sin is an inroad of the enemy into our lives~~ No longer do we resist sin to try and be accepted with God but we live holy because our nature has been changed and because actions of sin give place to the devil!~~~
