****THE COUNTDOWN TO TURKEY--ONLY 5 DAYS TO GO**** I will be posting a photo, a promise from Scripture, and a prayer request for several more days. Thanks for joining me in these final days by affirming the promise and interceding in prayer for me. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. --Isaiah 55:8-11 NIV Often with a quality education and diverse life experiences we forge ahead making plans, pursuing options, and determining what to do with our lives. I have been there and done that . . . then God interrupts our planning and gets our attention in a dramatic and significant way because His thoughts are not my thoughts, neither are His ways my ways. That is exactly what happened in June of 2012 when I was first introduced to the idea of interim pastoral ministry in Antalya, Turkey. Fast forward 30 months and I am permanently moving there in obedient response to the call of God, the move of the Spirit, and the affirmation of the dear people of St Paul Union Church as well as my amazing sending church, Glen Ellyn Bible Church. The process has involved many people who believe that Gods Word will accomplish His purposes. Please pray for every person from the beginning to now and for those who will be impacted in the future as this journey to Turkey becomes a reality in less than a week. I deeply desire to submit to the ongoing plans of God, Himself so would you ask Him to keep revealing Himself to me? I am extremely grateful for every person who has committed to be a part of the journey so would you pray that as a team, on both sides of the ocean, we will join forces to do our parts to see Gods purposes accomplished for His glory?
