By force of faith, I shall rid the world of heresy....I shall begin with him who styles himself as a pagan god...THOR! -the Crusader ...No! Tis not possible! Such power against me cannot be....I am a GOD....A GOD!!!!! -Thor ....THE COMING OF THE CRUSADER! A very underrated two issue story arc that had so much religious overtones...in which seminary student Arthur Blackwood is obsessed how many citizens view Thor, and worship him...visiting his dead father grave, he is met by his ancestors, members of the Crusaders...bequeath with garb, powers and shield he takes up their name sake and becomes the Crusader! In their initial meeting, the Crusader gets the best of Thor...slicing his face in which he draws blood. Its seems as nothing can hurt the Crusader as each blow from Thor does little...then..the unthinkable happens, as the Crusader wounds Thors arm...and lunges his sword, piercing through Thor...mortally wounding him. Sif takes Thor back to Asgard...and Odin saves his life, restoring him to his former might.... Thor counsel with Odin...and ask how could this mere mortal best him...and Odin tells him...FAITH...His faith was stronger than his will...Then Odin tells Thor, the day has long past that they be worshipped on earth... Renewed in his conviction...Thor returns to earth, and confronts the Crusader...and tells the Crusader the people need not of him...Their god, is not his god...He does not preach hate or ignorance...With Mjolnir, he breaks the sword and slams him into a light pole. Thor then turns to those that are around...and tells them to seek moral guidance and spiritual understanding...and that he is not a god fit to be worship....and takes leave with Sif....
