*******THE DAILY NUGGETS---2013******* “A REASON FOR OUR SEASON”We must realize that just because we have trials, tribulation, and obstacles in our lives does not mean that those things are going to last forever. When we are faced with problems and confusion, we must continue going forward and realize that it is just a test of our faith and endurance for the moment or our season. In fact the bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1; To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:What does this truly mean? It means that there is a reason for our season and a purpose for everything we go through in this life. And as long as we overcome by trusting God to pull us through we will be better off because of our experience. Let me say that trusting God is not always easy but when we do, we will be rewarded for our effort.Faith is something that we develop as humans and begins in our childhood. Godly faith is that which we develop as believers and requires much more patience and trusting in God. In natural or human faith we depend on our own will power, strength, and ability to believe that we can accomplish whatever task is set before us. In Godly faith, we depend on Jesus and believe that no matter what challenge we face we can depend on Him to give us the ability to overcome. I am reminded of one of the games we use to play growing up as a child outside the city of New York (in Mount Vernon) during the summer season. We would agree on a certain place in the city about two miles away and see who could reach that place first. We could choose any path we wanted to reach our destination. Of course, there would be someone already at the chosen place who would be there to decide the winner. The game wasn’t necessarily based on how fast you could run but how well you could overcome obstacles such as traffic, people on the streets, and other obstacles during the race. Are you hearing me today? One of the greatest obstacles was the extreme heat (because we played this game during the summer when we were out of school) and running on concrete which was a great challenge in itself if you ever fell down. It took patience running through crowded streets, waiting for traffic lights to change, and enduring the heat of the hot summer sun. However, because we were determined to finish the race, we all continued until we reached our destination. The spiritual challenges we face are no different. The race is long, the obstacles are difficult, and the heat of our battle with the enemy as well as ourselves sometimes seems unbearable. However, we must understand that it is nothing more than a test of our faith to see if we really and truly want to make it to our destination. Is your faith being tested today? If it is please remember, your patience and trust is being developed and as long as you hold on, our Lord will bring you total victory. And always remember; there is a reason for your season!Verse of the Day: (New King James Version)Ecclesiastes 3:1; To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:Let Us Pray: Lord I thank You for letting me know that there is a reason for my season…in Jesus Name, Amen...FOCUS CHAPTER FOR THE WEEK---Matthew Chapter 13NEW AND LIVING WAY OUTREACH MINISTRIES1145 East University AvenueGainesville, Florida 32641"CHANGING THE WORLD ONE CITY AT A TIME"If you no longer wish to be part of this distribution list, please respond by placing “remove” in subject line
