THE ENDLESS STUPIDITY OF THE PUBLIC Chuck Todd is one of the few moving mouths who in fact does practice journalism. It is the thin skin dopes who don’t. And the reason they don’t - is they just do not know how. Modern J schools will admit upfront that they can no longer teach the traditional tenants of journalism. What to throw rocks? How about sending them toward Fox. It was Fox who built the giant slide - and when it made money - others came running. Mr. Todd is absolutely correct in that it is not - and should not be the job of the media, to SELL any administration’s programs. It IS their job to explain programs with no lean left or right. I have often reminded the older among us of the NBC White Papers. Knowledgeable journalists did tons of home work then when on the air to explain what they had learned. Anyone care to give us a two hour dissertation on the financial condition of Detroit? How about Syria? With the exception of NBC’s Richard Engel, few know the first thing about “behind the scenes”. BTW, Engel is one of the best foreign reporters in my life time. SO lip movers. News readers. Go back to whatever you do and leave journalism to Todd and Engel.
