"THE FROGS" PRESS RELEASE After the success of “Women in Parliament”, Theatro Technis presents its modernized version of “The Frogs” of Aristophanes, translated by George Savvides, adapted by Ted Creig and directed by George Eugeniou. The play will open on Theatro Technis’ stage from 15 to 26 of October at 7.30 pm, plus a matinee on Sunday 20 October at 5pm. In the original play, Dyonisus goes to Hades with his slave Xanthias to bring back Euripides from the dead in order to save Athen’s. Many burlesque adventures will happen to both of them, which they both face with great humour and wise words. This modernized version of “The Frogs” puts the play in the current context of political, social and economic crisis that the world is going through. It takes critical stands on our own society today, and underlines the needs for change, to create a world for the good of the whole society and not just of the plutocratic elite. In order to accomplish these ideas we need new leaders. A group of actors are going to personify every character of this Ancient Greek satire, which is put in music by Matthew McCann and Georgia Kokkinou.
