THE FUTURE OF THE GOLF INDUSTRY About 120 golf courses close in America per year and have over the past 8 straight years. Why? Its very simple the people playing golf are not having fun so they leave the sport entirely. By the thousands. So many are leaving the sport that it have finally over shadowed the number of new people picking up the sport. The Business of Golf is no longer progressing. The rule of Business is if you are not progressing your business will DIE a slow at first, then a quick death. And that is happening in America. Is it instruction that is causing it? ---------------------------- You Damn Skippy it is. Fun starts with being able to play the game. If you cant play the game well enough to have fun Id quit that game wouldnt you? ------------ The industry has dont this to them selves in my opinion. They have now for 70 years portrayed the game of golf has a very difficult game? A game that is very hard to learn? A game that is almost impossible to master? And hitting a golf ball straight is impossible shot to do? That is the biggest factor in the overall decline. And its been coming for years. This is a very good look at how poorly the golf industry has been marketing itself and what is happening do to it. And its sad.
