In 2013, via a groundbreaking DTI study, they discovered the biological basis of SPD and in summer 2014, they demonstrated how brains with SPD are wired differently than brains with #Autism, officially making them unique, discrete disorders. Now, the team is looking to uncover the genetic causes of SPD, discover risk factors, measure neurologic brain differences, determine the effectiveness of treatment based on brain plasticity, and develop new therapies.
