…THE WHOLE WORD… “Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court - TopicsExpress

…THE WHOLE WORD… “Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORDS house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORDS house, ALL THE WORDS that I command thee to speak unto them; DIMINISH NOT A WORD:” (Jeremiah 26:2)… LET’S say you have a message to pass across to someone, sent it through another person, only for the recipient to get a distorted view of the message, how would you feel? Bad, I guess. There are different possibilities. It must have been distorted intentionally or otherwise. The worst part is when it’s done intentionally. God has written a love letter to the world through His word. And those who have the responsibility to bear it should not distort it. It’s actually an assault to God’s intelligence when we think we can either add to or diminish from God’s word. What we are actually saying is that God hasn’t “thought it through” before giving us His word, so, we should try and help Him! We should not diminish from it because we feel it’s too tough. Neither should we add to it because we feel it’s too lax. That’s not for us to do. Also, let’s avoid these three “ISM’S” viz: Legalism: We should not reduce our relationship with God to a set of rules. That was the Pharisees’ error. The Christian life is more of a relationship than regulations. Elitism: Thinking our supposed ideologies (which have no real basis in God’s word) is superior to others is spiritual pride. Judgmental-ism: There are aspects of God’s word left as: “Let every man be persuaded in His own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are not to judge other people who do not exactly look like us. God needs men who would bear His mind as it is – speaking THE WHOLE WORD! Have a word-filled week!
