** TO INSURE OR NOT? THAT IS THE QUESTION! ** I took out pet - TopicsExpress

** TO INSURE OR NOT? THAT IS THE QUESTION! ** I took out pet insurance last October, had been on my to do list for years. Comet had an almost $1,000 vet bill recently after a severe bout of gastro. With RSPCA Pet Insurance and must say I cant fault them, money back in my account within a week of posting the claim form to them, got back the 75% I was covered for, so really happy with that. However, since October Ive paid in premiums the same as Ive just got back! (for the 2 dogs mind you). Only Skye and Comet are covered, havent added Jaffa on yet, and didnt cover the cat as it was just getting a bit expensive. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are, each dog has $11,000 worth of cover. So if the worst happened of course its worth it, but eldest of our animals is the cat whos not even 5 yet. Thinking maybe setting up a savings account and putting the equivalent of premiums away each month (and I WILL DO IT). Ive advised people against this in the past saying thats fine if its a few years before you need it and the moneys there, but if something happens tomorrow youre stuffed. Wondering what others do/have done/thought of doing??
