TITLE: HUMILITY, THE FUEL FOR FORGIVENESS SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? * * * It is not unusual to look down on or take offence with people who behave in ways we consider too primitive or below our standards. In fact, the reason we get hurt and upset often times is because the people we have dealings with seem to function at a lower level of wisdom or understanding. This tendency however stands in the way of forgiveness. Our text today states clearly that the reason you appear wiser, richer or more cultured than another person is because of God’s Grace, not purely a result your own effort. God’s Grace is the reason you appear better than others. Why then are you upset with those who are yet to attain your level of wisdom or understanding? What is expedient is that you pray for those who have disappointed you one way or another,; pray that the same Grace of God that worked in you would work in them also and perfect their characters. This is true humility, the fuel for forgiveness. * * * LIANNA PROPHESIES: Receive grace to walk well with others today in Jesus name. * * * ACTION POINTS: DO THIS: Consider how you treat people around, have you always looked down on others? If yes, make amends. * * * SAY THIS: I decree and I declare that I represent Christ in all that I do. * * * STUDY YOUR BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: EZEKIEL 8&9, LUKE 11, PSALMS 134 * * * CHRISTIAN MISSION FOCUS: COUNTRY: TUNISIA 65% out of the over 10 million people in Tunisia are unreached with the Gospel. Muslims are 99% of the population. The necessity of learning Arabic is a barrier to many non-Tunisian Missionaries. However, there are many open doors to share the Gospel than ever before. * * * PRAY FOR TUNISIA: We are praying that every hold of religion be broken from the people of Tunisia. * * * STARTUP PRAYER: Dear Lord, cause humility to well up on my inside in Jesus name. * * * PRAYER OF CONSECRATION Oh Lord my God, I thank you for your love for me since the year began. Father, I consecrate myself to you this month. Let me not fall short of your best for my life this year. Open my heart to new things by your Spirit. Fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Let my heart yearn for you every hour in Jesus Name.
