~~~~~ TORR ~~~~~ (Manhattan A0994001) ** DUE TO HIS MEDICAL CONDITION (VOMITING UPON ARRIVAL AT THE ACC), HE WAS MADE RESCUE ONLY ** Nine years old Torr has been dumped at the high-kill New York ACC and is now on todays TBD list. Chances are, it was because he was old & sick, and his family just didnt want to bother with him anymore. Per the ACC, Torr was easy to remove from his kennel. Outside he was more interested in his surroundings than in the handler. Torr would investigate passersby briefly, but would quickly resume sniffing his environment. He walked nicely and he may be housetrained - toileted immediately once outside. Torr would allow and tolerate handling, but was not connected to the handler. Per Urgent Part 2: Torr is a dignified old soul whose recent months have probably been anything but. This 9-year-old gent is too thin, has a suspicious growth on his perineal area, and was vomiting when he arrived at the shelter on March 14th. Someone has looked at this dog every day, for how long? Giving him food, giving him water....but precious little else. Certainly not giving him veterinary care; certainly not giving him love, and comforting arms in his senior years. No, Torr was allowed to straggle into the ACC where his medical condition has precluded his receiving an entire SAFER. He feels like crap so its uncertain whether his few, minor behavioral lapses are from not knowing any better, or not feeling any better. His notes paint a picture of a gentle, pleasing companion who has had a bad day and just wants to go home. In order for that to happen, he needs an adopter preferable or foster to be approved by a New Hope rescue. Get working on those applications NOW. They commence their awful work at noon. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=774635032549378&set=a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553&type=1&theater
