*****TRANSIT UPDATE***** East Side Access Work: Summer 2013 Service Changes beginning Monday, July 22 through Friday, August 16. A month-long construction initiative to support the East Side Access project will take place this summer, and will impact weekday service from mid-July through mid-August. We are building a concrete track slab in the very busy Harold Interlocking that will allow subsequent tunnel construction to proceed without impacting LIRR service. Eventually, the slab will support a westbound bypass track for Amtrak and LIRR trains, increasing capacity and reliability in this area. To accommodate the work, some key tracks in the Harold Interlocking area will be taken out of service. On weekdays, service impacts include the temporary cancellation of three westbound AM peak trains and two eastbound PM peak trains, along with schedule revisions for a number of other trains. The cancellations and timetable changes will be in effect from Monday, July 22 through Friday, August 16. AM Peak Service Changes ***Montauk Branch*** The 5:39 AM train from Montauk (6:22 from SOUTHAMPTON), which normally terminates at Hunterspoint Avenue at 8:36 AM and Long Island City at 8:44 AM, will instead terminate in Jamaica at 8:17 AM. Customers will be accommodated by the 8:25 AM train from Jamaica to Hunterspoint Avenue, which will have an added stop at Long Island City at 8:52 AM PM Peak Service Changes ***Montauk Branch*** The 4:28 PM train from Long Island City to Patchogue will originate at Jamaica and depart at 5:03 PM. Customers will be accommodated by the 4:30 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue to Montauk, which will originate from Long Island City, departing at 4:10 PM. ***THIS TRAIN STOPS AT SOUTHAMPTON AT AROUND 6:50PM*** So IF you know someone or any other tribal members ride these particular trains, PLEASE let them know.
