(TRENDING) Martin Brodeur is back in the NHL, officially. The St. Louis Blues announced the club has signed Brodeur to a one-year deal. He was brought in on a tryout deal to practice with the team in the hopes that he could be signed to fill the gap left by starter Brian Elliotts knee injury. According to Nick Cotsonika of Yahoo Sports, Brodeurs contract is worth $700,000, but is filled with bonuses including $10,000 for every point earned with him between the pipes, among other incentives. Brodeur will be eligible to play whenever hes ready and will likely serve primarily as a No. 2 for Jake Allen while Elliott is out. How things work after that will be really interesting to follow, but hes going to see some action in the Blue Note according to coach Ken Hitchock. “If hes here, hes going to play,” Hitchcock told the teams official website. “Well figure out what game it is and what games they are, but if hes here, hes going to play. Hes not going to back up.”
