TWO BITTER PILLS. REAL CHANGE? After reading The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin again.....I realize that what will make it impossible to dismantle this race-house and rebuild it....is that the majority of us Blacks are also White Supremacists. You kind of have to be that to be an American. Its intrinsic and embedded by conditioning from birth. Mike Browns mother wears blond hair. The black majority vote in Ferguson keeps a nearly all-white political machine in place. I see black weariness, black rage....but I also see unwavering commitment to what is familiar. I see the black doll test living & breathing on the streets. Most Blacks see Whiteness as the closest symbol of humanity. And would rather sacrifice their black selves than dismantle it. This is what being American truly means. Achieving some form of proximity to whiteness. None of our intellectual chatter means a thing. Our exact conversations (word for word) were had back in 1948...and again in 1960...and again in 1971. The conversation by Blacks in America has not changed one iota. In 1962...horrific riots broke out after an unarmed black teen was shot in St. Louis, Missouri. The PROBLEM is that Blacks are Americans now more than anything else.
