* * * * TWO RECEPTIONISTS HIRED AT COURT HOUSE * * * * On September 26, Sterling Lacy posted two job openings at the Courthouse. The duties are: 1.Field all incoming calls to the Courthouse 2.Operate telephone switchboard to connect callers 3.Use paging system when necessary 4.Receive incoming mail 5.Provide general assistance the the public locating offices The Courthouse has a totally automated phone system, meaning operator not required. Last month, Kathy Hicks who was the receptionist was transferred to the office of Commissioner Mike Carter. The Courthouse has been operating without an operator for over a month and there has been no problems. The public has been able to locate offices and everybody received their mail It is our opinion these two receptionists are totally unnecessary. It is simply more expenses for the Taxpayer to bear who are already having to reach into their pockets to pay for the additional 36% increase in County Taxes as a result of Sterling Lacys financial mismanagement and needless expenses.
