No phone calls please. Purpose of Position: The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist shall ensure accountability and efficiency for all technical activities. S/He will work closely with Program teams to assess field conditions, support capacity building initiatives, and facilitate the collection of quality data. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. IIE may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time. • Monitor performance of subcontractors and vendors; • Analyze data and identify recurrent trends; • Contribute to the development of monitoring systems and documentation; • Develop project PMP and update it on a regular basis; • Develop capacity of staff members on setting targets and achievement indicators; • Manage and regularly update website and social media platform; • Ensure monitoring takes full account of concerns, complaints, and feedback from customers/end users; • Support project/program staff on ways to properly document, organize and capture • program progress; • Draft tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures (eg. project performance tracking, indicators, data flow chart); • Report on performance gaps, successes, and lessons learned; • Ensure timely reception of required information from various entities; • Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures; • Perform other duties and functions as assigned. Education/Experience: • Bachelor degree in a relevant field. • 5 years work experience in monitoring and evaluation activities; • Experience in USAID projects is highly desirable. Skills Required: • Good oral and written English and Arabic language skills; • Proven leadership ability with excellent communication, interpersonal, as well as planning and organizational skills; • Ability to design M&E tools, surveys, and evaluations; • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others; • Strong analytical skills; • Excellent presentation skills. The Scholarships & Training for Egyptian Professionals (STEP) Program is a five year USAID funded project that aims to invest in Egypt by supporting the Government of Egypt to improve organizational capacity within Egyptian institutions and develop a stronger workforce through providing 100 Egyptian women with Masters of Business Administration degrees, 60 women with bachelor’s degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields from U.S. universities. In addition to providing thousands of Egyptian professionals – both government and private sector – with short-term training in fields linked to USAID’s technical sectors including Education and Training, Democracy and Governance, Economic Growth, and Health.
